Head coach David Oliver grew up as an age group swimmer in Kentucky followed by a high school career at St. Andrews School in Boca Raton, Fl.  This prep experience led him to the University of Kentucky where he was a four-year scholarship athlete and captain his senior year.  After college he received his Master's in Exercise Science from Georgia State University and immediately took a position with the Federal Bureau of Prisons where he worked for 25 years.  After retiring, he began coaching both age-group and high school swimmers in Wayne County, Ga.  That path led him to SGSC and he became the head swimming coach in August 2023.
