The Program

The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology program is a win-win for South Georgia State College students and the community. Local, state and national employers look for personnel skilled in a wide range of technical manufacturing design, development, operation and evaluation abilities. Students want a program that will provide them with the skills needed in a local attractively-priced venue, especially for those geographically place-bound. The program does both and will raise the educational and quality of living levels of regional employees while addressing employer needs and boosting the regional economy.

SGSC drew on existing and new curriculum and faculty resources to create a baccalaureate degree focused on developing professionals with skills suitable for a variety of employment settings. The connections with regional employers to enhance student development of skilled knowledge and hands-on experience in high-demand career fields will be invaluable for the community and the students.
