SGSC Hosts USG Chancellor Sonny Perdue, Regent Patrick Jones For Town Hall Conversations

South Georgia State College Interim President Dr. Greg Tanner (center) welcomed University System of Georgia Chancellor Sonny Perdue and Board of Regents Member Patrick Jones to the Douglas and Waycross Campuses recently for town hall conversations with students, faculty, staff, and educational and community leaders from Ware and Coffee Counties. Chancellor Perdue and Regent Jones shared their support for SGSC and its educational mission, discussed the college’s economic impact on the south Georgia region, and moderated a Q&A session with those in attendance. Chancellor Perdue and Regent Jones challenged the educational and community leaders to strengthen their partnerships with SGSC as the college continues to serve students from southeast Georgia, across the state, and around the country. Regent Jones was appointed to the Board of Regents by Governor Brian Kemp on June 30, 2022 representing the first congressional district.
