March 7 was a good day for South Georgia State College baseball. The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released its week seven Division I rankings and SGSC had earned a spot in the polls as number twenty in the nation. Along with that, two victories against Thomas University JV brought their record to an impressive 17-8 which puts them at a nine game winning streak.
In Tuesday’s games against Thomas University JV, the Hawks thrilled the hometown crowd with an 11-1 win in game one, followed by a 6-2 win in the final game. SGSC stepped up to the plate and quickly put five runs on the board in the first inning. Thomas JV tried to get things going in the top of the second, but only came away with one run. KC Brown took the lead with three hits and Jake Bryan, Chase Hinson, and Spencer Speer followed behind with two hits each.
