Douglas Rotary Club learns of SGSC-OSP partnership
Posted on Feb 05, 2014
The newly formed partnership between South Georgia State College (SGSC) and the Okefenokee Swamp Park (OSP) was the featured program at a recent meeting of the Douglas Rotary Club. Dr. William Clark (third from left), president of the OSP’s Board of Trustees, told the Club of the Park’s history and the benefits of the SGSC partnership. SGSC science faculty can utilize the Park as an outdoor laboratory, and the Park’s educational resources will soon be made available all over the world through a fiber optic internet connection. Dr. Patricia Brown (far right), special assistant to SGSC President Dr. Virginia Carson, introduced Dr. Clark to the Club. Dr. Brown was one of the catalysts behind the creation of the SGSC-OSP partnership. Rotary Club member Dr. Jim Cottingham thanked Clark for his presentation.
