SGSC to Host CAA and MCT's Aladdin

THe Coffee Alliance for the Arts (CAA) presents auditions for the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) production of Aladdin! Auditions will be held at South Georgia State College in Peterson Hall on Monday, June 15th. Registration begins at 9:00 am, and the audition will begin promptly at 10:00 am. Registration forms can be filled out prior to or on June 15th. Forms will be available at auditions, or can be picked up in Richey Hall room 108 prior to auditions.

Missoula Children's Theatre Aladdin

All students entering grades 1-12 in the fall are welcome and encouraged to audition, but only 50-60 roles are available. No advance preparation is necessary. In addition to the 50-60 on-stage roles, student Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week, and to take on essential backstage responsibilities. Those auditioning should arrive no later than 9:40 with paperwork completed (earlier if necessary) and plan to stay for the full two-hour audition. Some of the cast members will need to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

The roles for the show include Aladdin and his mother; the Princess Dory and her father, the Sultan; along with his adviser the Grand Vizier; the keeper of the Book of Answers; Dinazade and her sister Scheherazade; the Mysterious One; some mischievous Genies; a stubborn Donkey; a spunky Goat; scheming Cassim; Ali Baba; Sinbad and his Sailors; wise-cracking Palm Trees and fleet-footed Camels; a Cave of Wonders; Vagabonds; and even a pack of lost Penguins.

The Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 10:00 am to approximately 2:30 pm each day. For more information on  Missoula Children’s Theatre, please visit mctinc.org.
