AP and CLEP

Advanced Placement (AP) and College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) 

  • A student may apply for AP credit and/or CLEP credit only after being accepted by South Georgia State College. Credit will be awarded only after the student has enrolled at South Georgia State College.
  • When AP or CLEP credit is awarded, a grade of “K” will be recorded on the student’s permanent academic record.
  • No more than 20 semester hours of credit may be earned by examination (inclusive of AP, CLEP, and/or departmental exams).
  • Credit will be awarded for scores of 3, 4, or 5 on tests of AP comparable to collegiate courses. Credit will be awarded for scores of 50 or higher on tests of CLEP comparable to collegiate course.
