History
South Georgia State College (SGSC) was established on January 8, 2013, by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia through the consolidation of South Georgia College (Douglas) and Waycross College (Waycross).
Degrees
SGSC currently offers five bachelor’s degrees: Biological Sciences (BSBS), Management (BSM), Nursing (BSN), Elementary & Special Education (ELE/SPED), and Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET). Students can also choose from more than 20 associate transfer pathways, plus an AS in Nursing. As a state college, SGSC anticipates adding new baccalaureate programs over time.
