SGSC’s Brandi Elliott selected to participate in USG’s Executive Leadership Institute

Posted on May 14, 2024

South Georgia State College’s Associate Vice President for Student Success Brandi Elliott recently completed the University System of Georgia’s Executive Leadership Institute.

For over a decade, USG has hosted ELI for faculty and staff to develop new leaders within the university system and offer professional development opportunities to help them grow their careers in Georgia. Nominated by their institution, participants in each cohort participate in a comprehensive 120-hour development program facilitated by leading experts in leadership.

During an eight-month period, the group participates in a curriculum that includes group learning and assessment, personal reflection, job shadowing, and cross-mentoring.

Elliott was excited about participating in this year’s program. “I’m thankful to Dr. Tanner for nominating me for the program and grateful for my colleagues who supported me throughout the experience,” Elliott said. “I value the friendships that I formed with the members of my cross-mentor group. The way the program is structured allowed us to encourage each other while providing the honest feedback needed for growth.”

ELI enhances leadership competencies highlighted in the USG system. Elliott is looking forward to incorporating what she has learned through the program in her role at SGSC.
