Parrish, Brown Named To GCAA All-Tournament Team; NJCAA First Round Game Information Announced

The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association has named two South Georgia State College basketball players to the GCAA All-Tournament Team. In addition, the Hawks now know who they will play in the first round of the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Daniel Parrish, a 6’3” redshirt sophomore from Aiken, S.C., and Bryce Brown, a 6’8” redshirt sophomore from Lawrenceville, Ga., were All-Tournament Team selections following last weekend’s GCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in Waycross. Parrish, who was also named the tournament’s MVP, averaged 21.5 points, nine rebounds and 4.5 assists in wins over South Georgia Tech and East Georgia State. Brown averaged 9.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and two blocked shots in both victories.

The Hawks were selected as the No. 21 seed in next week’s national tournament to be played in Hutchinson, Kan. SGSC will play No. 12 seed Salt Lake Community College from Salt Lake City, Utah this Monday, April 19 in the first round.
