Hawks fall to Georgia Perimeter on the road

The Georgia Perimeter Jaguars utilized a fast start Saturday afternoon to upset the No. 13 South Georgia State College Hawks 75-62. The Hawks (22-3, 11-2) took their first lead of the game with three minutes left in regulation but couldn’t hold on.
“This was a very physical game that took a toll on us,” said head coach Cory Baldwin. “They (Georgia Perimeter) did a good job of controlling the tempo.”
Daniel Peace led SGSC with 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Demontrez Austin had a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Cody Helgeland and Jovante’ Spivey each finished with 12 points.
The Hawks return home Wednesday night to face Atlanta Metro in another conference game. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
General admission to all regular season home games is five dollars with children five and under admitted free.
