Hawks Basketball Cruises In Season Opener

The South Georgia State College Hawks cruised in their season opener Saturday night with a 110-55 win over the Red Devils Basketball Academy. The win featured six players in double figures, 29 team assists, 19 steals and 23 forced turnovers.
“This was a complete game for us with everybody getting playing time,” said head coach Cory Baldwin.
Jalen King led the Hawks (1-0) with 17 points. Will Ferguson and Bryce Brown each finished with 12, while Tafari Thomas and Collins Joseph had 11 points. Greg Hobbs completed the double figure scoring with 10 points.
SGSC’s next home game is scheduled for this Wednesday, Nov. 6 against American Basketball Institute. The game is set for 7 p.m. and will be played on SGSC’s Douglas Campus. The next Waycross home game is Saturday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. against Action Sports Academy.
General admission to all regular season home games is five dollars with children five and under admitted free.
