South Georgia State College scored six runs in the eighth inning to garner a 9-6 win over Tallahassee Community College March 1.  By securing the win, the Hawks snapped an eight-game losing streak and improved their record to 6-11. The victory was an important boost for the Hawks as TCC had earned the state of Florida's NJCAA Region 8 top ranking for a fourth straight week earlier in the day.

The Hawks got off to a slow start not plating a run until the bottom of the fourth inning. They added two more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. The TCC Eagles’ offense had things going early, earning two runs in the top of both the second and third innings. They scored one more in each of the seventh and eighth innings to build a 6-3 lead. SGSC refused to let that be the end, and the Hawks rallied back with six runs to get the win.

The Hawks outhit the Eagles 9-8 as Cameron Coffey took the offensive lead with three hits, followed by Conner Durden with two. Chip Devitt, Troy Hollinger, and Jared Crews all took their turns on the mound. Crews held TCC hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none, and struck out two.
