Posted on Aug 21, 2014
South Georgia State College President Dr. Virginia Carson is pleased to announce the appointment of Dani Sutliff to the position of Director of Institutional Effectiveness. Sutliff began her work at SGSC July 1.
Sutliff is the former Director of Planning and Assessment at Middle Georgia State College. She coordinated many of the College’s assessment activities, which included the collection, analysis, and distribution of data for various college initiatives including Complete College Georgia (CCG) and accreditation reports for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
At SGSC, Sutliff will lead the institution’s assessment efforts as it participates in the CCG initiative, and also prepares for an affirmation visit from SACSCOC in 2015. In addition, she will coordinate data analysis, institutional surveys, and other important activities.
“Institutional effectiveness is a crucial component to a college’s mission and its accreditation,” said Dr. Carson. “It’s important that we ‘say what we do and do what we say.’ I’m appreciative that Dani has come aboard to lead the institution in such a valuable endeavor.”
A native of Waycross, Ga., Sutliff received her associate’s degree in psychology from the former Waycross College. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminology from the University of West Georgia (UWG).
“As an alumna of the former Waycross College, I am excited to return to the institution that provided me with such a great foundation in my academic and professional career,” said Sutliff. “I look forward to helping support the academic as well as student support areas in this role.”
Sutliff and her husband, Mike, live in Perry, Ga. with their rescue dog, Odie.
