Chattahoochee Tech edges SGSC in OT
Posted on Feb 19, 2014
The South Georgia State College Hawks saw their three-game winning streak snapped Wednesday night as Chattahoochee Tech escaped with a 94-90 overtime win.
Jovante' Spivey had 31 points, six rebounds, and three steals. DeAndre Holmes finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists, and Daniel Peace had 13 points and seven assists.
"This was a great game for our fans," said head coach Cory Baldwin. "As good as we played offensively, though, that was not the pace we wanted. I felt like the style and tempo favored Chattahoochee Tech in the second half and in overtime."
The Hawks (16-11, 9-8 GCAA) have three regular season games remaining and continue to battle for the chance to possibly host a first round game in the upcoming GCAA Tournament.
Following road trips to Gordon State College and Middle Georgia State College, SGSC will host its final regular season home game Feb. 27 against South Georgia Tech. Tip for the game is set for 7 p.m.
