Be A Part Of SGSC's Investiture Celebration!

South Georgia State College (SGSC) invites you to help celebrate the investiture ceremony of SGSC’s eighth president, Dr. Ingrid Thompson-Sellers, on Friday, September 21, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. in McGouirk Auditorium inside Peterson Hall on the Douglas Campus.
 

Individuals and delegates from other institutions of higher learning are encouraged to RSVP for the event by August 24, 2018, at www.sgsc.edu/inauguration. Additional information, including driving directions, parking information and hotel accommodations is also available at www.sgsc.edu/inauguration.
 

Thompson-Sellers was introduced as the president of South Georgia State College on May 17, 2017. Prior to her appointment, Thompson-Sellers served as Senior Associate Dean and professor of Business Information Systems at Georgia State University. In addition, she served in a variety of roles at Georgia Perimeter College, including Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, Business Information Systems faculty, department chair, Dean of Business, as well as Campus Dean at Newton, Decatur, Clarkston and GPC Online. Before coming to Georgia Perimeter College, Thompson-Sellers taught at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York.
 

Thompson-Sellers earned her bachelor’s degree in physics from The University of the West Indies (Mona Campus, Jamaica), a master’s degree in telecommunications from Iona College and a doctoral degree in instructional technology from Georgia State University. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), Southern Association of Colleges with Associate Degrees (SACAD) and Iona College, her alma mater.
