Welcome to Information Technology at South Georgia State College.
The IT Division is a major service provider to all stakeholders within the college community and supports most mission-critical processes and services, many 24/7. The division also provides a visionary and leadership role relating to e-content, infrastructure, services and policy, and often acts as a change agent.
The IT Division is under the supervision of the Chief Information Officer and is responsible for the following:
• Support and assistance for desktop computing in both administrative and academic environments,
including equipment acquisition and repair;
• Operating system and database administration for the central campus computing environment;
• Data and voice communications;
• Support for Banner, PeopleSoft, and related applications;
• Software support and distribution;
• Web Assistance;
• Maintenance of campus network infrastructure;
• Network and email account setup and management;
• Management of student computing labs;
• Management of the campus Audio/Visual services.
Additionally, we offer centralized support, training, and consulting concerning information technology to the campus community.

On November 20, SGSC will be implementing a change on the student email system.
If you have set up your security questions in email, you can click on the “can’t access your account” link and reset your email password.
If you have not set up your questions, you can also log in with an initial password using the following schema: If your name is Jane Doe your password will be sgscJDXXXX, where the sgsc is the acronym for South Georgia State College, the J is the first letter of the first name (capitalized) and the letter D is the first letter of the last name (also capitalized), the XXXX represents the last four digits of your Student ID (or 988 number).

Our Mission
Information Technology is to provide South Georgia State College (SGSC) students, faculty, and staff with a reliable and secure technology infrastructure that supports the student learning process, academic and student programs, and the administrative service functions of the College.
In support of this mission, we will:
- Provide oversight of the college network and administrative systems, computer labs, and classroom and office technology
- Deliver training on the use of the technology and software programs.
- Demonstrate technical and operational excellence through a commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement.
