About the SGSC Libraries

The libraries on the Douglas and Waycross campus of South Georgia State College focus on the academic success of the college community by providing information resources that support and augment the SGSC curriculum, high-quality Information Literacy and bibliographic instruction, and safe and comfortable physical environments as well as virtual learning environments.

Print and electronic resources are readily accessible through SGSC libraries' GIL-Find Catalog, the website, and the extensive Georgia Library Learning (GALILEO) databases. Students enrolled in University System of Georgia (USG) institutions, such as South Georgia State College, have access to the circulating collections in all of the USG libraries through a borrowing process called GIL Express Request. Within GALILEO, SGSC students may access over 100 databases indexing thousands of periodicals and scholarly journals. Over 10,000 journal titles are provided in full-text. Other electronically accessible GALILEO resources include encyclopedias, business directories, academic videos, and government publications.

We encourage you to learn more about our resources and services by visiting or contacting the libraries and requesting a guided tour. Please let us know how we may assist in meeting your information needs!
